On the occasion of the television premiere of a documentary on the quadriga races in Ancient Rome, the German magazine TV Digital dedicated a report to The Formula 1 of Antiquity, which included this reconstruction of the Circus Maximus in Rome, the largest sports venue in history. With dimensions of 620 m long and 140 m wide, it occupied the valley that extends between the Palatine and Aventine Mountains, two of the seven hills of the Eternal City. It is estimated that it had a capacity of more than 150,000 spectators. Up to twelve chariots took part in the races, which had to complete seven laps around the spina, the central axis of the circuit.
