Volcanic Eruption

Volcanic eruptions are diverse processes. They can be sudden or slow, devastating or calm, depending on the dynamics created between magma, gases, and rocks within the volcano, and on the amount of accumulation time and pressure. Along with the lava, pyroclastic elements are thrown in the eruption, which can be of very varied sizes, from fine ash to large granite blocks. The eruptions are also varied, but can be classified basically, considering their intensity and violence, between explosive ones and effusive ones. This infographic from the Ábaco collection is integrated into the Volcanoes series, which includes the original titles: The Earth's Crust, Anatomy, Vesuvius in Pompeii and Krakatoa.
