Earth Crust

The interior of the Earth is made up of four great layers: the upper mantle, the lower mantle, the outer core and the inner core. The earth's crust is the outer solid layer, the thickness of which reaches 15 km under the oceans and 70 km under the mountain ranges. The crust is made up of igneous, sedimentary, metamorphic and plutonic rocks. In the gaseous mass that covers the planet, several layers are also identified: the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere, the thermosphere and the exosphere. This infographic from the Ábaco collection is integrated into the Volcanoes series, which includes the original titles: Anatomy, Eruption, Vesuvius in Pompeii and Krakatoa.
