Biochips are small devices that contain biological material and are used to obtain genetic information. The biochip of the infographic has a template, called genetic microarray, that allows to compare the DNA of a person's tissue sample with the genes that cause the disease. The infographic shows the steps that this type of biochip takes for the processing and expression of cancer genes, compared with healthy genes. This infographic is part of the Age of Genetics series, which also includes animations: Genetic Solutions, Genetic Therapies, Bovine Cloning and Stem Cells.
