The kind of fish that has registered the greatest evolution and diversification is the one of the osteichthyes or bony fish, with spines and jaws. Its skeleton is small, but very firm and is divided into: skull, spine, and fins. These fins are flexible and allow bony fish to swim with precision. Present in all aquatic environments, there are more than 430 families of bony fish. The largest of the species is the sunfish (Mola mola), which can measure more than 3 meters and weigh 1 ton. This infographic from the Ábaco collection belongs to the Amphibians and Fish series, which also includes those originally titled: What Is an Amphibian?, Metamorphosis, Fish Anatomy and Cartilaginous.
