The first chronicles about the Incas were written between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries by chroniclers, both Spanish and Andean, who added to these stories, the narration of the events in which they themselves participated. The first book about the Andes was probably written by Bartolomé Ruiz in early 1528, but one of the most important books was “La Nueva corónica y Buen Gobierno” (1615), written by the chronicler Felipe Guamán Poma de Ayala.
