The art of Ancient Greece is the style elaborated by ancient Greek artists, characterized by the search for "ideal beauty", by recreating the ideal world or by imitating nature. The culture developed by the ancient Greeks established the foundations of Western culture, an influence that has survived to this day. From this Greek art arose the concepts and principles of art, philosophy and later knowledge. Greek art began autonomously at the end of the Mycenaean civilization, around 1100 BC, but reaches its maximum expression on the 5th century BC. Classic Greece. Philosophers. Socrates. Plato.
