Eclipses

Eclipses are astronomical phenomena that occur when the Sun, Moon, and Earth are aligned, causing the light that the first two project onto Earth to dim momentarily. There are two types of eclipses: Sun eclipses and Moon eclipses. In the former, the Moon stands between the Sun and Earth; in the latter, the Earth stands between the Full Moon and the Sun. This infographic from the Ábaco collection is part of the series The Moon, which also includes the original titles: One Big Leap, No Secrets, Internal Structure  and The Moon and the Tides.
