The Iliad is the tale of the Trojan War. The Odyssey narrates the return of Ulysses to his kingdom of Ithaca. One describes the war, the other the restoration of order. Homer was the Greek poet who is credited for creating these famous works around 800 BC. Since the 4th century BC, all Greeks began to study these works, preserving them as the best heroic epics, being especially essential reading for children. Later, the Iliad would be the bedside work of Alexander the Great. Classic Greece.
