Stem Cells

The reasoning behind stem cell treatment is based on the following principle: if the complex human body, made up of more than 200 different types of cells, can be generated from a group of unspecialized embryonic cells (stem cells), then, the manipulation of the division of these embryonic cells could generate all human tissues and so let to carry out autologous transplants without risk of rejection. Stem cell treatment consists of four phases: collection in the placenta or umbilical cord, in vitro multiplication, differentiation and implantation to repair damaged tissues.
