The train was born in Great Britain during the Industrial Revolution. The first locomotives operated on steam, but in the 20th century electric and diesel-electric machines appeared. High-speed trains reach 300 km/h and are a direct competition for air transport in medium and short distances. This infographic belongs to the Transportation series of the Ábaco collection, which also includes the original titles: Beginnings of Land Transport, Two Wheels, The Automobile and Maritime Transport.
