In 1962, the United States Army introduced a new war machine: the Chinook CH-47 twin-rotor helicopter, manufactured by Boeing, one of the giants of the North American naval air industry. Specially designed for the transport of troops and of heavy material, it entered service in the Vietnam conflict. The Danish magazine Illustreret Videnskab Historie adapted this infographic for its usual graphic section Rundt om… (About…). Belonging to the Bonnier Publications publishing group, this history magazine is also published in Sweden and Norway.
