The Inca social organization, determinant in the creation and maintenance of the admirable Andean Empire, was characterized by having a very rigid hierarchical system, supported from its bases by a large network of family conglomerates. The “ayllu” was the fundamental element in the Inca social organization, thus, in each of them, extended family clans were united, having in common some degree of paternal consanguinity. In this sense, the “ayllu” was based on community work, where part of the production was destined to the maintenance of the temples, another part to the supply of the State and the remaining part to the survival of each population; being all these activities supervised by the “curaca” or head of family groups.
