The skeleton shapes and supports the human body; protects internal organs, and allows body's movements. The skeleton can be can be synthetically described as a vertical column of chained vertebrae, with a pair of limbs at each end and crowned by the skull. The arms are attached to the shoulder blades and clavicles at the so-called shoulder girdle; the legs do it at the pelvic girdle. Bones can be classified by their shape and size. The skeleton structure is basically the same for both sexes. Only the hollow of the pelvic center is greater in women.
